Revised Regulations Governing Export Commodities

The Ministry of Economic Affairs has announced, via document Jing Mao Zih No. 09604600970 dated March 5, 2007, a revision of Article 22-1 of the Regulations Governing Export Commodities to add a provision allowing imported goods that are processed in Taiwan and then re-exported to be labeled as having been processed in Taiwan, or with the production process carried out in Taiwan, or with similar words. To avoid misunderstanding among consumers about the area of production, however, such imported goods should also be labeled with their place of origin.
