DuPont Sets Up Semiconductor Materials R&D Center in Taiwan

DuPont has responded to the bright future of Taiwanˇ¦s semiconductor industry by announcing, on July 24, the establishment of a Semiconductor Materials R&D Center in Taiwan. This is the companyˇ¦s fourth laboratory related to the development of semiconductor materials, following earlier ones in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Japan, and its third laboratory in Taiwan. The earlier two Taiwan labs are in Taoyuan and Guanyin, where they engage in the development of printed circuit board and microcircuit materials, and flat-panel display technology and green energy (solar battery and fuel cell) technology, respectively.

DuPont stresses that it highly regards its cooperating partners and the market in Taiwan, and strives to introduce the most advanced technology to the island to help with industrial upgrading and transformation. The new facility, which was two years in planning and cost NT$300 million to build, will concentrate on the development of post-etch residue remover applications.
