Electronic Receipt System Inaugurated for Online Customs Payments

The Directorate General of Customs has announced that following the successful inauguration of the Customs ePayment System in February, those making payments using the ePayment System are also able to download and print out a Customs Payment Receipt to use as proof of payment or to submit to tax agencies for offsetting against the business tax since July 20. This will provide taxpayers with diversified, convenient, year-round, 24-hour online tax inquiry and payment services, save operating costs, and upgrade overall trade competitiveness.

According to the regulations, operators who receive e-receipts (commercial receipts for companies and customs brokers, personal receipts for ordinary persons) and obtain an account number with a financial institution or an IC ATM card may, after applying to and receiving permission from the Customs, rapidly complete the withholding payment procedure via the Customs ePayment System, thereby accomplishing ˇ§green customs clearanceˇ¨ without the use (or with reduced use) of paper.

The website for the Customs ePayment System is: http://dgocep.customs.gov.tw/.
