7.2. CHARGES COLLECT
7.2.1. GENERAL
Unless otherwise arranged charges are payable by shippers, i.e. charges
prepaid. A consignment may be accepted charges collect (i.e. payable by
consignee) provided the following conditions are fulfilled:
a.
The consignee is not the same as the shipper, nor a government agency (except
when shipped by a government agent presenting proper credentials).
b.
Currency regulations of the country of destination and of the delivering carrier
permit collection of charges from the consignee.
Note
Human remains, live animals, perishables, personal effects or household goods
(used and not for resale) acceptable on charges collect basis only after
prearrangements with the carrier(s) concerned.
