Vendor and Supplier Hubs

Eagle operates "Vendor/Supplier Hub" centers for clients around the world. As hybrid receiving/warehousing/inventory control/distribution concept, vendor/supplier hubs increasingly are utilized by multinational corporations (MNC's) to improve inventory management processes and reduce costs by outsourcing all or part of a production supply or retail distribution operation. Under a vendor hub operation: 

  1. Responsibility for inventory management shifts to the MNC's supplier. 

  2. The supplier retains ownership of the production materials destined for finished goods manufacture, staging goods at the hub according to the MNC's production forecasting. 

  3. Change of ownership is only recognized at the point where the goods enter physical production line for assembly. 

  4. Eagle, as the vendor hub operator, serves as the catalyst, manager and facilitator of inventory levels, managing multiple suppliers for the MNC.



These programs integrate Eagle's technology, facilities and transportation resources into customer-specific product staging and release programs. They provide outsourced management of logistics, customer orders and inventory, anywhere in the world, linked with web-enabled technology.

EGL's MIS department has demonstrated technological creativity and proficiency in several new products including Eagle Advisor, TALON (Transportation and Logistics Online Network), Warehouse Management System, and EagleScan. These new applications take advantage of cutting-edge technology such as digital imaging and a new internally developed international operating system to satisfy the ever-changing needs of EGL customers.


EGL's use of technology is so innovative, in fact, that the MIS team was awarded the 1999 Microsoft Visual FoxPro Excellence Award for Best Client-Server Application for the TALON product and recognized as one of three finalists in the Best Web Site Solution category for the Advisor product.
